Biographical Information

Mr. Campbell was the co-founder of Bumi Plc with Nat Rothschild. "He has 35 years experience in both operational management and in the execution of significant acquisitions and investments in the global metals, mining and resources industry. From 2001 to 2008, James was Chairman of Australian listed nickel producer Minara Resources. Prior to this, he had a long and successful career with Anglo American in a variety of operational roles and board appointments. During his career with the Anglo American group, James was managing director of De Beers Industrial Diamond Division, chairman of AngloCoal, chairman of AngloBase, an executive director of Anglo American plc, a director of AngloGold, AngloPlatinum, Richards Bay Coal Terminal Company and of De Beers Centenary. He is currently a non-executive director of Highveld Steel and Vanadium, having recently retired from the boards of Evraz Holdings S.A. and Ferrous Resources Ltd. Mr. Campbell holds a BSc in Physics and Mathematics from Queen’s University Belfast.

He has been a Director of Rockwell Diamonds Inc., since June 1, 2011. He has been an Executive Director at Stellar Diamonds Plc since February 2010. He is a member of the Institute of Directors of South Africa. He served as Director of African Diamonds plc from December 1, 2006 to December 2010. As part of his social commitment to South Africa, he acts as vice chairman of the South African Ballet Theatre and acting chairman of Common Purpose SA. He is also a licensed Lay Minister in the Anglican Church of South Africa and an accomplished Ballroom and Latin American dancer. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Mining, Metallurgy & Materials, Chartered Engineer (UK), Chartered Scientist (UK) and a Professional Natural Scientist (RSA). Mr. Campbell holds a Degree in Mining & Exploration Geology from the Royal School of Mines and an MBA with distinction from Durham University."
