Jack Africk was a member of the Board of Directors of Liggett Group Inc. beginning in 1976. During that same year, he was also Vice President of Sales. In 1977 he became Executive Vice President of Liggett Group, Inc. Currently, he is an Executive for U.S. Tobacco Company.

Biography

After leaving Liggett Jack Africk was employed as an executive with United States Tobacco Company in Greenwich, Connecticut.

Africk has knowledge of the tobacco industry's participation in public fraud and disinformation relative to health hazards of tobacco use, in the manipulation of nicotine in tobacco products and in marketing of tobacco products to children.(N.M., L&M Liability Notebook, Section 3, Personnel List) He served on the Executive Committee and Communications Committee for the Tobacco Institute, Inc. from 1977 to 1978. In 2007, Africk was Vice Chairman of the Board for North Atlantic Trading Company Inc., a manufacturer and marketer of loose leaf chewing tobacco in the United States, which sells its products under the brand names Beech-Nut, Trophy, Havana Blossom, Durango, Stoker, Our Pride and other brand names. Africk was an Officer since: 04/16/2007, when he was 78 years old.
