"A Martin Luther King Fellow for 2000-2001 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the Department of Urban Studies and Planning, Phil Thompson is also an associate professor of political science at Columbia University. He serves as a senior policy advisor to PolicyLink, a think/action tank on public policy and community building. In addition, he has held several positions in New York City government including Deputy General Manager for Operations at the New York City Housing Authority, and Director of the Mayor's Office of Housing Coordination during the Dinkins Administration (1989-1993)."
