The Iraqi-American Council is "an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization that advocates the empowerment, interests, and ideals of Iraqi-Americans regardless of their religious, political, or ethnic backgrounds." The Council is "dedicated to promoting, coordinating and conducting various activities and programs for the advancement of the civil rights and social, economic, educational, cultural and ethnic interests of Iraqi-Americans throughout the United States. The Iraq-American Council will support other local, regional and national organizations in pursuit of the stated goals." [1]
