Biographical Information
"Iqbal Wahhab is the award winning Founder of Roast restaurant in Borough Market and is involved in other entrepreneurial activity in and around London, the city in which he grew up having come from Bangladesh as a baby.
"After graduating from the LSE, he briefly worked for The Independent as a journalist, then launching a PR company, a magazine and his first restaurant The Cinnamon Club in 2001. Other restaurants followed and were successfully sold and he is now concentrating on developing and expanding the Roast brand. He is also planning a major food village in the east end of London.
"Iqbal is chair of the DWP Ethnic Minority Advisory Group, which advises ministers on creating fairer policy, chair of The Quilliam Foundation... and chair of the Mayor’s Fund for London Business Club which seeks to engage companies in supporting the work of the Fund."[1]
