The InterAfrica Group was formed in 1991 and their "mission focuses on advancing peace, justice and respect for humanitarian law in the Horn of Africa. Our programs combine networking, civic education, advocacy, dialogue and research. Our mandate includes the countries of the Inter Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD), namely Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan, Somalia, Kenya, Uganda and Djibouti, while also dealing with issues that have wider relevance on the continent, particularly in the great Lakes region. IAG cooperates and dialogues with a range of NGOs, governmental and inter-governmental organizations, bi-lateral and multilateral institutions in the region." [1]
