Funding

  • Received a grant from the NED in 2002 "To conduct a civic education program for teachers throughout Azerbaijan. The Institute will disseminate basic information about the meaning of democracy and critical thinking and will introduce necessary reforms into civic education at the high school level through a series of intensive training seminars, roundtables, and distribution of modern teaching materials."
  • Received two grants from the Westminster Foundation in 1998: "To fund the Institute of Peace and Democracy to run a series of ten training workshops for 16 representatives of 8 local human rights NGOs, over a period of 10 weeks from spring 1997; to also organise an intensive 5-day seminar on international human rights laws and practises to be delivered by an Amnesty International expert in summer 1997." And "To fund the Institute of Peace and Democracy to run a series of 10 training workshops for an average of 25 participants from Azeri women's organisations in autumn 1998."
