Institute for Global Chinese Affairs "Founded in 1996 as a nonprofit institution at the University of Maryland in College Park, the Institute for Global Chinese Affairs (IGCA) considers the world's Chinese-speaking population from global as well as national, regional and local perspectives. Through a variety of programs related to global Chinese affairs, including lectures, workshops, seminars, conferences, and research, we promote understanding and collaborations between Chinese-speaking and U.S. communities." They add that:
