About ALEC |
---|
ALEC is a corporate bill mill. It is not just a lobby or a front group; it is much more powerful than that. Through ALEC, corporations hand state legislators their wishlists to benefit their bottom line. Corporations fund almost all of ALEC's operations. They pay for a seat on ALEC task forces where corporate lobbyists and special interest reps vote with elected officials to approve “model” bills. (If you have additional names, please add them with a citation. The names in this original list were verified as of posting.)

Randy Frye (R-67) disclosed $600 in payments to ALEC in 2016, including a 2-year membership dues on Nov. 23, 2016[5] Frye disclosed $1,050 in payments to ALEC in 2015, in addition to a $734.25 payment for a hotel that hosted an ALEC meeting in Scottsdale, AZ in December, 2015.[6] Frye paid a 2-year ALEC membership fee on Dec. 20, 2014,[7] and on June 14, 2011.[8]
