Ian Goldin

Dr Ian Goldin "is the Director of the James Martin 21st Century School (University of Oxford). Previously he was Vice President of the World Bank (2003-2006) and prior to that the Bank's Director of Development Policy (2001-2003)." [1]

Appointed in February 2010 to the CDC Group board "Ian Goldin has an internationally recognised reputation in the field of development finance and economics and is currently director of the Oxford Martin School, at the University of Oxford.

"His career includes senior roles as Vice President at the World Bank, Chief Executive at the Development Bank of Southern Africa and Principal Economist at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. He is also Professor of Globalisation and Development at the University of Oxford.

"Ian was also an adviser to South African President Nelson Mandela. He holds a number of other Non-executive Directorships and also has wide experience of emerging markets and the political and economic risk associated with investing in these areas." [2]
