"Hope is a gender, organisational and development specialist. She has a B.A (Hons) in Sociology from Makerere University and an M.A. in Development Studies from the University of Illinois. She co-founded the Zimbabwe Women's Resource Centre and Network in 1996. Hope is a former board member and Chair of the Global Fund for Women. She sits on the advisory Board of the African Gender Institute, University of Cape Town, South Africa and on the Policy Advisory Board of the Canadian Gender Equality Project based in Harare. She is an internationally renowned consultant on governance, monitoring and evaluation. She has consulted for HIVOS, NOVIB, UNIDO, UNIFEM, DANIDA, Cordaid, Action Aid, and MWENGO among others. Hope is widely published author on governance, civil society, gender and development. Her latest book, Reviving Democracy: Citizens at the heart of governance: - with Barry Knight and Rajesh Tandon, was published in 2002. She has edited many books including Lessons in Empowerment based on the experiences of African NGO’s." [1]
