Founded in 2008 Homes and Communities Agency replaced the work previously undertaken by English Partnerships and the Housing Corporation.

Their web site notes: "Working with our local partners, we use our skills and investment in housing and regeneration to meet the needs of local communities; creating new affordable homes and thriving places."
