Biographical Information

"Helmy Abouleish (*1961) serves as Deputy Chairperson and Managing Director of the SEKEM Group. Helmy Abouleish, among an extensive range of other engagements, was a member of the Egyptian Delegation to the UNFCCC negotiations on Climate Change in recent years. He participates in the Climate and Energy Commission of the World Future Council and, as a Fellow of the Schwab Foundation, is a member of the Advisory Council on Sustainability and Competitiveness of the World Economic Forum. As renowned leader of sustainable change in the Arab world, he founded e.g. the Egyptian National Competitiveness Council and the Egyptian Chapter of the Arab Sustainability Leadership Group, and is driving manifold initiatives for organic agriculture, corporate sustainability, national and global sustainable development."
