Helen I. Torley
"Dr. Torley has, since 2014, been President and Chief Executive Officer of Halozyme Therapeutics, Inc., a biotechnology company focused on developing and commercializing novel cancer therapies that target the tumor microenvironment. Prior to joining Halozyme, Dr. Torley served as Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer for Onyx Pharmaceuticals from August 2011 to December 2013, where she was responsible for the development of Onyx’s commercial capabilities in the United States, Europe and Asia Pacific regions. Prior to Onyx, Dr. Torley spent 10 years in management positions at Amgen Inc., most recently serving as Vice President and General Manager of the US Nephrology business unit from 2003 to 2009 and the U.S. Bone Health business unit from 2009 to 2011. Prior to 2003, she held various senior management positions at Bristol-Myers Squibb and Sandoz/Novartis, and was in medical practice as a senior registrar in rheumatology at the Royal Infirmary in Glasgow, Scotland. Dr. Torley is a director of Halozyme Therapeutics, Inc., and she served as a director of Relypsa, Inc. from 2015 to 2016. Before joining the industry, Dr. Torley was in medical practice. She has been a director of Quest Diagnostics since May, 2018. Dr. Torley has extensive executive experience, including in general management, strategic planning and commercial operations, with multinational corporations operating in the healthcare industry.
