Heeten Kalan "is a South African and currently the Senior Program Officer for the Environmental Justice Fund at the New World Foundation. He is also the founder and part-time director of the Boston-based South African Exchange Program on Environmental Justice (SAEPEJ), which later became groundwork USA, the American office of one of South Africa’s strongest environmental justice organizations. Kalan’s activism has centered on heightening awareness of the links between the environment and all aspects of health, and the broader socio-economic consequences of unjust environmental policies."
