Health and Safety Executive is a department of British Parliament. It is the government body responsible for research into health and safety matters in the occupational environment. Its mission is to "prevent death, injury and ill health in Great Britain’s workplaces." It is roughly the equivalent of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration in the United States. [1]
