Biographical Information

"Harold Mitchell AO is Executive Chairman of Mitchell Communication Group Limited. In 1976 he started the company that is now the largest media agency in Australia. Since November 2009, he is Chairman of CARE Australia and has joined the CARE International Board. He is Vice-Chairman of the CARE Australia Corporate Council, Chairman of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Chairman of ThoroughVision, Director of Art Exhibitions Australia, Director of Television Sydney, Director of the Deakin Foundation, Director of the Melbourne Recital Centre. Previously, he was President of the Museums Board of Victoria; Chairman National Gallery Australia, Board Member of Opera Australia Council, President of the Melbourne International Festival of Arts and President of the Asthma Foundation (Victoria). In December 2000 he launched the Harold Mitchell Foundation, a philanthropic foundation to distribute funds between health and the arts." [1]
