Hakima Abbas is the Deputy Executive Director of Fahamu, an NGO that seeks to nurture and support the pan-African social justice movement. She has worked as a human rights defender in civil society and within the United Nations system for nearly a decade. She also edited Africa’s Long Road to Rights: Relections on the 20th Anniversary of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights. She obtained her Masters degree from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Af airs in New York." [1]
