Gustavo Gorriti "is member of the Press and Society Institute, and of the International Consortium for Investigative Journalism (ICIJ). He directed Periodistas, a news program based on investigative reports in Peru. He worked as joint-director for La Prensa, in Panamá. He directed numerous investigations for Peru's weekly Caretas, making public the link between Vladimiro Montesinos and drug trafficking through one of them. In 1992 he was awarded the Maria Moors Cabot Award, conceded by the University of Columbia. In 1998 the Committee for the Protection of Journalists awarded him the Liberty of the Press Award, in recognition for his courage and defense of his investigations." [1]
