The Goedgevonden coal mine is a coal mine in Mpumalanga province, South Africa.

Background

The Goedgevonden coal mine began operation in 2004. It produces 6–8 million tons of coal per year (Mtpa), and has estimated recoverable reserves of 200 million tons (Mt). It is owned by Glencore International (74%) and African Rainbow Minerals (26%).[1][2]
