Gerald Davis "is a member of the Managing Board of the World Economic Forum and is responsible for the Strategic Insight activities of the Forum including the Global Competitiveness Network, Global Risks Network, Annual Meeting Programme, World Scenario Series and internal support for Industry Partnerships. He joined the World Economic Forum in 2004 after 30 years in Royal Dutch Shell and extensive experience of managing strategy and business environment teams where he was variously Head of Planning, Europe (1982-86); Head of Energy, Group Planning (1986-90); Head, Group Investor Relations (1990-94); Head, Scenario Processes and Applications and Head, Socio-Politics and Technology Team, Group Planning (1994-98); Vice-President, Global Business Environment, Shell International Limited and Head, Scenarios Team (1999-2003). From 1996-97 Mr Davis was a Director of Global Scenarios for the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, from 1997-2000 was a Facilitator and Lead Author of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s Emissions Scenarios and from 2002-03 was a Director of the Joint UN Programme on HIV/AIDS’ “AIDS in Africa” scenario project. He is a Member of the Board of Governors, International Development Research Centre, Ottawa and a Member of the InterAcademy Council Study Panel on “Transitions to Sustainable Energy”. Mr Davis first graduated with a degree in Mining Engineering from Imperial College, London. He holds postgraduate degrees in Economics and Engineering from the London School of Economics and Stanford University. Mr Davis is a resident of Switzerland.[1]
