Biographical Information

"Immediately prior to joining Virtual Metals, Gary managed the World Gold Council's public relations, communications, publications, and research programmes. During that time he launched and edited four issues of a new quarterly magazine called Gold, which had a circulation of 15,000 among the world's key figures in the gold and gold dealing industry. Before working for the WGC Gary spent a decade with the Financial Times as a reporter. He joined the FT in 1988 as the paper's Buenos Aires correspondent. He spent two years covering developments in Argentina, writing in addition for The Spectator, The Sunday Telegraph, Privatisation International, and regularly broadcasting for BBC radio and IRN.

"In 1997 Gary become Commodities Correspondent at the FT covering all commodities including oil, metals and softs. He has also worked as a journalist for Granada TV and the BBC. He has a BA in Philosophy and English and has published two books: The Odyssey Guide to South Africa (Odyssey, 1997) and The Doughboys: America and the First World War (Penguin Books, 2000)"[1]
