"Mr. Gabriele Volpi is the Founder and majority shareholder of Orlean Invest Holding, which owns a number of businesses based in Africa. These include Intels Nigeria Limited, which operates the largest oilfield services center in the world, Eko Properties and Investments which is responsible for providing real estate solutions to multinational companies across Nigeria and new Badagry Port development in association with Maersk.

"A serial entrepreneur and a self-made man, Mr. Volpi is a dedicated philanthropist and a devoted family man. He founded the Abuja Football College, a private organization which helps talented young boys from disadvantaged backgrounds to excel in education through football. Mr. Volpi also owns the Italian Serie B football club Spezia Calcio, the Croatian football club HNK Rijeka, and the Italian water polo club Pro Recco. He is himself a water polo enthusiast, having previously played for the Pro Recco team."[1]
