Frank H. Pearl is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Perseus LLC, a merchant bank and private equity fund management Firm with offices in Washington, D.C. and New York City.

Pearl is also "the founder and chairman of Perseus Books/Perseus Publishing, a publisher of quality trade books. Mr. Pearl has been involved for over 20 years in leveraged acquisitions of operating companies as well as the acquisition and financing of biotechnology investments, publishing ventures, energy technology investments and information technology companies.

Pearl practiced law in the District of Columbia and New York from 1969 until 1984. In 1984 Mr. Pearl joined Wesray Capital Corporation as a principal and managing director and in that capacity was involved in negotiating, structuring and supervising numerous successful corporate acquisitions and divestitures. During this period, Mr. Pearl was a principal with substantial responsibility for over a dozen operating companies including Wilson Sporting Goods, Avis Rent-a-Car, and Western Auto Supply.

Pearl serves as chairman of the Jennie Zoline Foundation, a private foundation which he established in 1987 to be operated for scientific, literary, educational and other purposes. The Foundation supports a wide variety of charitable activities ranging from the advanced medical and scientific research programs at several renowned medical research centers, to a program that feeds over 1100 homeless people each day in Washington, D.C. The Foundation also provides college scholarships each year to graduates of the Ellington School for the Arts in Washington, D.C."

"Pearl is a member of the Board of Trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Board of Trustees of the Rockefeller University and the Board of Directors of the National Book Foundation. Mr. Pearl is a member of the Visiting Committee of the Freer Gallery of Art, and served for five years as a member of the Trustees Council of the National Gallery of Art. He is the Chairman of the Kennedy Center Finance Committee and is a member of its Executive Committee and is the Chairman of the Education Committee of the Rockefeller Board and a member of its Executive Committee." He is on the board of the Brookings Institute.
