Francois Bujon de l'Estang was French ambassador to the United States from 1995 to 2002. He was replaced by Jean-David Levitte in December 2002.
He began his career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1966 under the de Gaulle government. He first came to the French embassy in the United States in 1969 during the Vietnam war.
