Biographical Information

"He has been Director of Eni since June 2008. Born in Genoa in 1940. He is currently Director of Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze SpA. He is also Director and member of the Executive Committee of Rimorchiatori riuniti SpA. He started working in 1959, in a stock brokerage in Milan; from 1965 to 1982, he worked at Banco di Napoli as deputy manager of the stock market and securities department.

"He held a series of managerial positions in the asset management field, notably he was manager of securities funds at Eurogest from 1982 to 1984, and General Manager of Interbancaria Gestioni from 1984 to 1987. After moving to the Prime group (1987 to 2000), he was Chief Executive Officer of the parent company for a long period. He was also Director of ERSEL S.I.M., member of the steering council of Assogestioni and of the Corporate Governance committee for listed companies formed by Borsa Italiana. He was Director of Enel from October 2000 to June 2008." [1]
