Biographical Information

"Faten Hussein manages Global Partners and Associates work related to Middle Eastern and North African Countries. She is currently working on a Parliamentary Support Project for the Iraqi Council of Representatives (CoR). Her work is focused on working with Committees to improve their internal organization and oversight function. Faten is also working on GPA’s project to support political parties and parliament in Egypt.

"Other projects Faten has worked on at GPA previously include a research project on parliaments in The Gulf for the London School of Economics, Review of Westminster Foundation for Democracy, evaluating ARPAC, the Arab chapter of the Global Organisation of Parliamentarians against Corruption (GOPAC), training for Iraqi women MPs as part of Iraq Foundation programme to empower women in decision making in Iraq, and managing the development and delivery of a media training programme for Iraqi MPs with the Media Directorate at the Iraqi Council of Representatives and IREX.

"Before joining GPA, Faten has worked at the Forced Migration and Refugee Studies department at the American University in Cairo, where she trained community interpreters, and conducted research. She also worked for the Euro-Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly at the European Parliament, and on an educational reform project in the United Arab Emirates." [1]
