Erkki Berndtson

Erkki Berndtson (b. November 30, 1947 in Helsinki) "is Senior Lecturer in Political Science at the University of Helsinki. He received his M.A. in Political Science in 1970 (University of Helsinki) and Lic. of Social Sciences in 1981 (University of Helsinki). He has been a Visiting Scholar at the Universities of Gothenburg (1973), Chicago (1983), California, Berkeley (1990) and Harvard (1990). He has been Editor-in-Chief of Politiikka, a journal of the Finnish Political Science Association (1985-86), a Member of the Executive Committee of the Nordic Political Science Association (1981-93), President of the Finnish Political Science Association (1995-99) and a Member of the Executive Council of the European Political Science Network, epsNet (2002-05). Currently he is a Vice Chair of the IPSA Research Committee on "The Study of the Discipline of Political Science" and a Member of the Executive Committee of the IPSA Research Committee on "Political Power". His research interests include history of political science, politics of higher education, power and democratic theory, architecture and public space as well as U.S. government and politics." [1]
