Eric Fichtl "joined Action Without Borders in August 2004 as our Editor. Growing up, he lived in several U.S. states, Switzerland, and Britain. He studied Latin American history at DePaul University and University College London. After improving his Spanish in Buenos Aires, he moved to New York City in 1998, where he worked in a variety of positions at the North American Congress on Latin America, a nonprofit publisher, and as an editor and reporter for Colombiajournal.org, a website about Colombia. After meeting in New York's tango scene, Eric and his wife Margarita spent a year living in her native Bulgaria, where Eric learned both to like feta cheese and how not to drive. In 2007 he completed a Masters in International Affairs at the New School, and as the year drew to a close, Eric and Margarita moved to Berlin, which promises to be their home for some time to come."
