Environmentalists for Nuclear Energy
Environmentalists for Nuclear Energy (EFN) describes itself as being "in favor of all energies which respect the environment, including the peaceful applications of clean nuclear energy (which has the greatest industrial potential), as well as renewable energies (hydro, solar, geothermal, and wind, all have appropriate roles to play, but with a much smaller potential)." [1]
EFN was formed in 1996 by Bruno Comby. EFN International is headquartered in Paris, but there are affiliates in England, France, the U.S., Japan, Italy, Germany, Romania, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Spain, China, Portugal, Poland, the Czech Republic, Albania, Sweden and Canada.

Personnel/Members
- Bruno Comby - Founder and President. Comby says he is an independent researcher and "acclaimed international lecturer", who has written "8 bestselling books on natural health, a sustainable lifestyle and ecology (over a million readers in more than 10 languages)". [2] What he tells people less often is that he is a nuclear physicist, who used to work in the nuclear industry in France.[1]
- Henri Joyeux - Vice-President. Cancer surgeon.
- James Lovelock - Honorary Member and personal friend of Bruno Comby. Lovelock wrote the introduction to Comby's book Environmentalists for nuclear Energy[3] and one of his website's feeds of Comby's and is designed by Comby.[2]
- Patrick Moore - honorary chair of EFN -Canada.[3]
Biggest Mistake of the Century?
According to EFN, nuclear produces "clean" energy "confined waste" and "no carbon dioxide". Its says: "environmental opposition to nuclear energy is the greatest misunderstanding and mistake of the century ... If well managed, nuclear energy is a very clean energy, does not reject polluting gases in the atmosphere, uses very few construction materials (per kWh) compared to solar & wind energy, produces very little waste (almost totally confined), and does not contribute to the greenhouse effect (no carbon dioxyde)[sic]." [4]
Waste is Not only Confined but "Self-Degradable"
In pamphlet after pamphlet and speech after speech Comby outlines the benefits he sees in nuclear power, including the fact that "it produces very little waste, and this is confined and self-degradable".[5]
Greenpeace and WWF Funded by the Arabs and Oil Companies to Oppose Nuclear
In an interview in 2004, Comby was asked why the two environmental organisations Greenpeace and WWF were opposed to nuclear power. He came out with the ludicrous conspiracy theory that "Greenpeace and World Wildlife Fund... have international money coming from other countries. And when you go up to the source, it ends up with the oil companies or the Arab countries. They have a strong interest in suppressing the nuclear industry."[6]
