Oklahoma contribution

In this 1996 internal email from David M. Powers, Regional Director of State Government Relations at R.J. Reynolds, to various industry personnel including Roger L. Mozingo of the Tobacco Institute and Timothy N. Hyde of R.J. Reynolds, Powers thanking the recipients "for contributing to the congressional race of Speaker Glenn Johnson in Oklahoma." He further states, "The Speaker was quite helpful to us in our battle to fight the repeal of preemption in Oklahoma, a battle in which we were successful."
