Ellen Mignoni was the Senior Vice President and Director of Corporate Community Strategies at the tobacco industry's favourite PR company, APCO Associates in November 1998. She lead APCO's school projects for "corporate and nonprofit clients in strategic philanthropy, strategic planning, program development and constituency building activities."

She worked closely with Margery Kraus on the tobacco industry accounts (mainly for Philip Morris) -- also "Whittle Communications, AAUW and Indiana University projects; managed strategic philanthropy projects for Philip Morris, Hoffmann La Roche and Browning Ferris Industries; and currently assists in APCO's work for The W.K. Kellogg Foundation's school service-learning initiative.

Before joining APCO, she "designed, implemented and evaluated state and community-based alcohol and drug education and treatment programs." [2]
