Elizabeth Gray

Elizabeth Gray, Global Managing Director, Climate Change at The Nature Conservancy. "Elizabeth has over 30 years of experience providing leadership to programs in the United States and internationally. As Director of Science for The Nature Conservancy in Washington, she led one of the largest and most effective science teams in the global organization. In her role as a global climate change fellow for Africa, she fostered partnerships with community, nonprofit, and government leaders to help improve the resilience of human and natural communities as they adapt to a rapidly changing world. As Executive Director of the Maryland/DC chapter, she fostered a culture of excellence and impact, launching the Conservancy's first urban conservation program in Washington, D.C. and raising brand awareness of the organization by 52%. As Division Director of the Mid-Atlantic/Central Appalachians, she launched North America's first Natural Climate Solutions (NCS) program; served as chair for North America's Climate Adaptation program; and led team in achieving numerous conservation results including acquisition of the $130M Cumberland Forest Fund carbon sequestration project; the Conservancy’s first Disaster Recovery Academy; and a “Nature and Economy” program focused on shifting from an extractive to a renewable economy. Elizabeth's previous international projects include work in Central and South America and Southeast Asia. " [1]
