Eliza Byard
Eliza Byard is Board Chair of Arts Engine and Advisory Council member of MediaRights, "is the Deputy Executive Director of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), the leading national education organization dedicated to ending bias and harassment directed at lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender students in K-12 schools... She became GLSEN's Deputy Executive Director in 2001, after a varied professional career in nonprofit administration, film and television production, and academia. Dr. Byard was previously Development Director for the Center for Investigative Reporting. She has worked on numerous award-winning productions for public television, including ?Out of the Past? (Audience Award, Sundance Film Festival), ?School Colors? (DuPont Award for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism), and Genesis: A Living Conversation with Bill Moyers. She received a Ph.D. in United States History from Columbia University, holds a B.A. from Yale, and has taught at Barnard College and Columbia." [1]
