Elaine Hendrix, "a long-time proponent of animal protection," joined In Defense of Animals ’s Board of Directors "in 2009. As an award-winning actor and producer, she is recognized for her roles in “The Parent Trap”, “What the Bleep Do We Know!?”, “Romy & Michele’s High School Reunion" and "Superstar;” as well as numerous television appearances on series such as “The Mentalist,” “Criminal Minds,” “Castle,” “CSI,” and two years on the critically acclaimed CBS series “Joan of Arcadia.” As an avid animal activist, Elaine lends her talent, energy and voice to issues on behalf of animals in a myriad of ways. She is a powerful spokesperson for IDA, a host for the monthly cable show “Pets 90210,” and an annual Honorary Committee Member of the Genesis Awards. She regularly volunteers at adoption events for organizations across the country, attends protests and demonstrations, and speaks on Capitol Hill, before city councils, and at universities on issues critical to animal protection.
