Edward Nassim
Edward Nassim "was until November 2007 Vice President for Africa, Europe and the Middle East at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the largest multilateral provider of investments and advice to the private sector in developing countries and a member of the World Bank Group. He previously served on the IFC’s Management Group, Investment Committee and Finance and Risk Committee. He joined the World Bank in 1976 and was appointed the first director of the IFC’s advisory department in 1989 and director of the Europe Department in 1991. He has led the IFC’s work in the development of the private sector in Central and Eastern Europe. This resulted in cumulative investments in the region of about $ 22 billion. The advisory work included the privatization of around 200,000 small businesses in Russia and Ukraine and about 1200 large companies in Russia. Mr. Nassim is a board member of MDM Bank, Moscow; Finansbank, Istanbul and Concorde Capital, Kiev. Mr. Nassim holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. from Imperial College, London University, and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School." [1]
