Edward H. C. McMillan-Scott "is the Vice-President of the European Parliament. He was the leader of the Conservatives in the EU from 1997—2001, and is a member of the Foreign Affairs, Human Rights and Common Foreign Security Committee. He is Sponsor of the European Democracy Initiative, which operates throughout the ex-Soviet bloc and Islamic countries." [1]
