Eduardo J. Padron

Eduardo J. Padrón "is president of Miami Dade College in Florida, the nation's largest college, serving over 160,000 students. Padrón, who received his Ph.D. from the University of Florida, is former chair of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities and the Spanish American League Against Discrimination. He has held leadership positions in the American Association of Community Colleges, the American Council on Education, the American Association of Colleges and Universities, the Higher Education Research and Development Institute, the League for Innovation in the Community College, and the College Board. Presidents Carter, Bush and Clinton all appointed him to posts of national prominence. Padrón is founder of the Miami Book Fair International and received the 2002 CEO of the Year Award from the Association of Community College Trustees." [1]
