The late billionaire Edgar Prince made his fortune with Prince Automotive. He founded the Edgar and Elsa Prince Foundation, a major financial backer of the religious right in America. Prince co-founded the Family Research Council with Gary Bauer.[1]

Broekhuizen's late husband was billionaire Edgar Prince who made his fortune with Prince Automotive. Broekhuizen is mother to Betsy DeVos, the former chair of the Michigan Republican Party, and Erik Prince the founder of private military corporation Blackwater USA. [2] [3]
