DowElanco is an Indianapolis-based biotech and agribusiness company. DowElanco started out as a joint venture between Dow Chemical Company and the Plant Sciences business of Eli Lilly in 1989. In 1997, Dow Chemical bought out Lilly's interest and changed the name to Dow AgroSciences in 1998. Since then, they have since acquired Mycogen Seeds, Brazil Seeds, Cargill Hybrid Seeds and the Rohm and Haas Agricultural Chemicals business.[1][2]
