Doris Meissner "is senior fellow of the Migration Policy Institute, a Washington, D.C. think tank dedicated to the study of the movement of people worldwide. Previously, she served as the commissioner of the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service, directing agency policy and operations from 1993 to 2000. Doris has also held several posts with the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and the U.S. Department of Justice. She has been a member of CARE's board since 2003 and has served on its program and policy, search and executive performance committees, the girls' education subcommittee and the task force on governmental relations.“ [1]
