Dharam Ghai
Dharam Ghai "is Advisor to the International Institute of Labour Studies, ILO. His previous positions include Director of the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development, of the World Employment Programme Research at the ILO and of Institute for Development Studies at the University of Nairobi. He was a member of the Pearson Commission on International Development, head of the Secretariat for the World Employment Conference in 1976 and Co-ordinator of the ILO Transition Team of Ambassador Juan Somavia. He has written extensively on employment, poverty, rural and social development, social indicators, structural adjustment and social dimensions of globalisation and the environment. He has led and participated in advisory, evaluation and study missions in nearly twenty countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. He is a member of the Advisory Boards of several journals and development institutes.“ [1]
