David Shapiro
David Shapiro is a Washington D.C.-based partner in the financial PR firm, the Brunswick Group. [1]
Background
A biographical note on the firms website states that Shapiro prior to joining Brunswick he was "Executive Vice President at the litigation communications firm of Bork & Associates and served as Executive Director of the in-house think tank of the National Association of Manufacturers. A licensed lawyer, David set up and currently runs Brunswick's Washington office, where he focuses on advising clients facing regulatory scrutiny, government investigations, and high-profile litigation." [2] It also states that he has also worked as "an advisor to an influential US Senator and as an award-winning television journalist with the prestigious MacNeil-Lehrer NewsHour." [3]

In December 2006 he was listed as a spokeperson on a media release announcing the formation of the Private Equity Council, a lobby group for major private equity firms. [4]
