David Petrasek
David Petrasek is the Policy Director for the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue.
"Holds degrees in history and law from Canadian universities, and an LLM from the London School of Economics. He has worked extensively on human rights and humanitarian issues, from 1990-96 with Amnesty International, from 1997-98 with the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and from 1998-2002 at the International Council on Human Rights Policy, where he helped to found and direct the research programme. Appointed Senior Director for Policy at Amnesty International in October 2002, he left this post to join the HD Centre in December 2003. He has taught international human rights and humanitarian law courses in Canada (Osgoode Hall Law School) and Sweden (Raoul Wallenberg Institute, University of Lund), and worked as a consultant or adviser to several NGOs and UNHCR."[1]
