David Miliband

David Wright Miliband (born 15 July 1965) wiki is a British Labour Party politician who was the Member of Parliament (MP) for South Shields from 2001 to 2013, and was the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs from 2007 to 2010. He is the elder son of the late Marxist theorist Ralph Miliband. His brother Ed Miliband is the Leader of the Labour Party.

David Miliband studied at Oxford University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Miliband's first job was as a political analyst at the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO). From 1989 to 1994, he worked as a Research Fellow and policy analyst at the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR). He was appointed Secretary of the IPPR's Commission on Social Justice upon its foundation in 1992 by the then leader of the Labour Party, John Smith.

Miliband is married to United States-born Louise Shackelton, a professional violinist currently with the London Symphony Orchestra.

On 27 March 2013 "In his letter today announcing his intention to stand down from Parliament, Movement for Change founder and current Board member David Miliband singled out his work with Movement for Change and emphasised his ongoing commitment to the organisation going forward." [1]
