Biographical Information
David Brazier is the CEO of Shelter Housing Aid and Research Project.
He notes that "I am a disorganised donor. My only regular donations are to political causes, such as the Labour Party and CND. I often give on the spur of the moment to overseas aid charities, mainly because the need is so obvious and because, in terms of relief of poverty, a small sum is going to make a much bigger difference in the developing world than it would in the UK. If I see someone selling the Big Issue, I will always buy one, but I don't give regularly to the Big Issue Foundation even though I think the idea behind it - a hand-up not a handout - is spot on."
