Darren Godwell
Darren Godwell "is currently a private consultant, based in Australia. In 2004, he was awarded a Reinhard Mohn Fellowship with Bertelsmann AG, the world’s fourth largest media company.
"Mr. Godwell has worked at Bertelsmann’s Corporate Center (Germany) and he also worked for Arvato Services (Shanghai) as a business analyst where he prepared an investment proposal for a new venture into China. Mr. Godwell has also spent time at the publishing company, Random House (London) where he worked on several projects pertaining to strategy, business expansion, and corporate social responsibility. During the same year, Mr. Godwell completed another placement with Random House Inc in New York, working in sales & marketing. Upon returning to Australia in September 2005, Mr. Godwell undertook a consultancy for Random House (Australia) assessing the prospects of the new publishing venture.
"From 1999-2004, Mr. Godwell was founding CEO of Australia’s first Aboriginal controlled, national charity – the LUMBU Indigenous Community Foundation. LUMBU pioneered a community development approach modelled on venture capital. Mr. Godwell also served on a World Bank Advisory Committee for Community Foundations in 2005." [1]
