Daniel Byrd: was a toxicologist who worked for Paul Cammer in running the tobacco industry scam known as the Business Council on Indoor Air.

Byrd had a B.S. in English from Yale University, a Doctorate in Pharmacology and was a Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology.

He worked as a toxicologist and science advisor during the Reagan Administration's scandal-riven EPA in the office of Pesticide Programs which was part o the Office of Toxic Substances. Paul Cammer was also in this division.

In the private sector, Dan had been both a private consultant and science advisor for the American Petroleum Institute. In the 1986-87 period he was Executive Secretary of the Environmental Health Committee of EPA's Science Advisory Board. Cammer claimed that " he helped that important body formulate its policies and positions on crucial scientific issues". This was the final year of Reagan's second term, so it is doubtful that they had any policies and positions on crucial scientific issues. The whole period was notorious for do-nothing activities of all of these regulatory agencies, the firing and jailing of some for corruption and lying to Congress, and the diversion of Superfund clean up funds to boost Republican political activities.

Dan joined Cammer and Associates in early 1987 as Director of Scientific Affairs. [2]
