Biographical Information
"Since graduating Brown University and Stanford Business School, Dan has been in the private equity business, founding Main Street Resources in 1998 and running it since. This professional experience has given Dan a firm grounding in launching and executing complex human-scale transactions and opportunities.
"Over the last few years Dan has evolved to spending most of his time on non-profit work, such as co-founding/chairing Green Village Initiative, chairing the Schumacher Center for New Economics, advising the Center for Non-Profit Excellence at the Fairfield County Community Foundation, and assisting/advising/funding many non-profits and socially responsible businesses in transition and development.
"Dan believes in the core need to change our economic system to address our social, economic and environmental needs - and that the best way to achieve this is through experimenting and modeling local/tangible and socially responsible business projects. For his efforts to date, Dan has received the EPA’s Distinguished Citizen Award and the like. Dan lives in Westport with his three children, ages 14, 19 and 21, and his Labradoodle dog Luke.
