Biographical Information

Purchasing Director for Alfalfa's.

"History has a way of repeating itself and for Dale Kamibayashi that statement really rings true. Dale started his career in natural and organic products retail in 1983 as store manager of the first Alfalfa’s Market at the intersection of Broadway and Arapahoe in Boulder. He brought with him retail management experience, as he and his wife had spent the five prior years owning and operating their own small retail grocery store in Nederland, Colorado.

"Dale ran the first Alf’s store for seven years and, as the company added stores and markets, Dale grew with it and became Grocery Purchasing Director. He served in this capacity for the next nine years, which extended through the merger with Wild Oats. In 1999 he became director of specialty markets for Small Planet Foods/General Mills. Since then, he has served as Vice President and Director of Sales & Marketing for Rapunzel Pure Organics, Special Project Manager for Retail at Ceres Organics, Vice President at Vantage Organics International and is currently a Partner at Bolder Brands, LLC.

"Dale earned his B.A. degree in Ethology at the University of Colorado. He gives back to his local community by volunteering for the Community Food Share Annual Food Drive. Dale has also served as a Host Committee Member for the Organic Trade Association’s annual fundraising campaign for the last 11 years, and was honored with the Spirit of Organic “Unsung Heroes of the Organic Movement” award in 2007.
